Advanced Doctoral Intern in Clinical Psychology
Erin McKay, M.A. is an advanced doctoral student in her 6th year of the Clinical Psychology Program at Northern Illinois University. Erin’s approach to assessment and treatment is evidence-based and informed by cognitive behavioral theory. She is passionate about differential diagnosis, as correctly identifying the underlying concerns is imperative to developing effective treatment recommendations. Erin strives to bolster strengths as well as identify areas of growth, which may necessitate support. Additional experiences include intensive exposure-based therapies for children with selective mutism, co-leading anxiety and depression groups, and administering comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for children, adolescent, and adults.
Prior to her time at Konick & Associates, Erin provided evaluations, parent management training, and individual and group therapy within a private practice and university clinic. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in child development where she began her studies in parenting. Erin received her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois University in June of 2020. She has a passion for working with children, adolescents, and their parents and families to promote change and advocate for their needs.
