Thomas Nielsen, MA

Psychometrician / Testing Specialist

Thomas (he/his) is a psychometrician at Konick and Associates who provides comprehensive diagnostic and neuropsychological assessment services to children, adolescents, and adults in The Center for Testing. Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Utah State University in Logan, UT, and his Master’s degree in psychology from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. Currently, Thomas is a third-year doctoral student at Midwestern University pursuing his PsyD in Clinical Psychology with a focus on the study of eating disorders in males. He is experienced in diagnosing and treating a range of presenting concerns, including:

  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

  • Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

  • Cognitive decline due to age or brain injury

  • Externalizing behaviors in youth (defiance, conduct)

  • Mood Disorders & Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Thomas grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho, and then moved to Logan, Utah to attend university. While in university, Thomas worked at a residential treatment center as a crisis manager for teens with complex challenges, including Attention-deficit/hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Thomas also had the privilege of volunteering at Camp One Step in their sibling camp. This camp was for children and teens who had a sibling with a cancer diagnosis and provided a safe space for them to get together with others who had similar experiences.

Thomas applies evidence-based practices in his assessment and recommendations. He approaches each client with the spirit of collaboration to ensure that the most accurate data, diagnosis, and recommendations can be provided to help them reach their fullest potential. Thomas is excited to be a part of the Konick and Associates team and to continue to grow professionally in the field of clinical psychology.
